We had to
say goodbye to our good friend, Cristen, this week. She has been here at the camp for the last
year helping with accounting and groups.
She lived with our family for the first seven months of her time here
before we moved into our new house, so we were able to spend a lot of time with
her and get to know her well. She has
been a huge blessing to us personally—helping take care of us when we had
malaria last year, helping around the house, playing with the kids, beating us
in Settlers (she kept us humble), and being a great friend and sister in
Christ. She was also a huge blessing as
we hosted various groups and teams at the camp, and she developed many
relationships with our Ugandan staff as well.
We will miss her very much and pray that God continually blesses her for
her faithful service to Him during her time here.
To
ease our sadness, God brought us Ally just a few days before Cristen left. She was a friend of ours from New Life Ranch,
and she will be with us for two months this summer. The kids have already bonded with her (Hannah
even says her name!), and we have enjoyed reconnecting with her and hearing
about people and places we know back in the States. We look forward to the next few months of having her here with us!
We are so excited that Ally can be there with you! Take care of her and post some pictures or her and you and the kids. Love to all!
