On our way up to see family near Portland, we decided to take a detour and visit Crater Lake National Park in southern Oregon. However, as we drove up the mountain we ran into something we weren't expecting: snow! With temperatures dropping to as low as 25 degrees, these southerners didn't last very long at the top of the mountain. The park ranger said they were expecting 4-6 inches of snow that day and visibility was so low that we could barely see the lake! Maybe someday we will go back that way when it is warmer and actually see what the lake looks like!
