August was a very busy month for us at the camp. We had five different groups come out to use the camp--Masulita (an organization working with street kids in Kampala), Worchester family from Kasana, Kasana Heart of Worship, and two groups from One More Child in Jinja. One of our biggest camps ever was for Masulita, which involved over fifty people for an entire week! Even though it was a little hectic, it was wonderful to be able to share God's love and grace with kids from such a rough background and to hear their responses as well. It was also a joy to have the kids from One More Child back at the camp. We saw many faces we knew along with new ones, and we were able to build on the things they had learned before.
In the midst of camp, we also had the privilege of welcoming two of our friends from Kasana, the Dendys and the Williams, to stay for some time of rest. Since we don't get to Kasana very often, we really enjoyed getting to catch up with each of them. In addition, it was great to see the camp being used to provide a place for these families to get away and spend time resting and enjoying just being a family.
As if that weren't enough things to pack into one month, we also added in a quick trip up to Kobwin in the midst of it all! We travelled with the Williams, so that Gabe and Nathan could work together on putting the roof on a new house there. With the two of them working together, they were able to build and install the trusses and attach the iron sheets in just a few days' time. It was a whirlwind trip, but we were glad to see and be part of the progress on things there as well.
Looking back, it is hard to imagine that all of these things happened in about a month's time. There were many times when we were exhausted, but God continually provided grace and strength as we needed it. Thanks to all of you who prayed us through! We are now enjoying a little bit more restful time as we wait for baby #3 to arrive!
