Clean Water

We have finally been able to start work on a new water system that will provide safe, clean water to our visitors and staff, our local community, and the camp's livestock.

Thanks to generous donations from our friends on the "Dakota Team" and from our friends in Newton, KS, we have begun the process of harvesting the water from a spring on property and piping it to the campsite.  The first phase of this project includes surveying, clearing a path, capturing the spring water, and burying a pipe through 1/2-mile of dense forest.  We will also be able to purchase the parts and assemble a water filtration and purification system for drinking water.

This project has already been fun, but also quite challenging.  A big part of the challenge is the fact that there are no roads into the area where we are working, so all tools and materials have to be carried to their destination.  This includes everything from picks and shovels, to generators, to bags of cement and buckets of stones.

"Thank you" very much to all who have made this dream become a reality.  We are very excited to see the impact that a simple thing like safe, clean water will have on those who visit the camp, and those in our community who have never had a source for safe drinking water.  Please pray for us as we work on this project that we may have strength, safety, and wisdom.  Please also pray for the remaining funds to be provided to allow for the total completion of the camp water system.
