We really enjoy watching our sons and daughter play with their Ugandan friends. Everywhere we go, it seems that within just a few minutes, there is a crowd of Ugandan children playing with our children.
I enjoy it because because our children are excited to play with new friends who they have never met, and they don't care what color they are or what language they speak. They don't care if they are playing with a soccer ball, a piece of rope, or just sticks and rocks. They are just happy to be together.
Every time that we see this, we are reminded even more so about the importance of investing in and training our own children. So often, it is easy to pour ourselves into "ministry" so much that we begin to neglect the children that the Father has put in our own family. But when we see how many others our children are able to freely interact with each day, we realize how many ministry opportunities they have that we will personally never have.
I'm thrilled that our children are ministering to other children in "the bush" in Africa, but I'm also excited about the opportunities that your children (if you have them) have to share Christ with their friends at school, on the baseball team, at the park, or anywhere else that they may be in contact with others. Don't forget to invest in your children and teach them the truth
today...
