National Parks

As we headed across the western half of the U.S., we stopped to camp at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah.  The beauty of the place took our breath away and brought us to praise God our Creator.  The kids loved being out in the woods camping and building fires, but Hannah was often confused when we told her we were going to the "park."  She kept asking us where the slides and swings were!  We did some hiking and fishing and driving around during our day at Bryce Canyon.  We also experienced the crazy temperature changes that cause the beautiful rock formations we saw there.  At night, we experienced temperatures in the 30's (a bit colder than we were expecting!) and during the day it reached into the 80's.

After a day at the park, we packed up camp and headed out for California, driving through Zion National Park on the way.  The kids favorite part of this park was definitely the one mile long tunnel through the middle of the park.  It was extremely dark inside except for three or four windows along the way that gave you a split second glimpse of the beautiful cliffs outside.  The boulders and rocks were so grand and awe-inspiring.  Neither one of us expected to find such beautiful places in the land of Utah, but we were so glad to be able to take time to see them as a family.
