Our kids continue to grow and change. Hannah will be one year old at the end of this month. The day before Thanksgiving she finally was bold enough to take a few steps on her own. Since then, she has been walking all over the place! She loves being able to chase after John and follow Mommy around the house. She is also trying to say quite a few words. She clearly says “Mama” and “Dada,” but she also tries to say “turkey,” “Nala” (the Sparks’ dog), and “yucky” (when she has a dirty diaper).
Both John and Hannah love playing outside whether it’s on the slide or in the dirt or just on the back porch. We haven’t decided which they like better, playing in the dirt outside or playing in the water when they take a bath afterward. John has begun to really enjoy singing songs. His favorites are “He’s my rock, my sword, my shield,” “This little light of mine,” and “Zacchaeus.” He is also at the point where he wants to do everything by himself—dress himself, go to the bathroom by himself, put his sandals on by himself, etc. It is fun to see his independence and to see how he tries to be a “big man” like Daddy.
